A Popup Builder alternative with no extensions to buy.

Why Switch

Six reasons to stop shopping for extensions.

One tier, not 28 extensions

Popup Builder sells popup types, triggers, and targeting rules as separate add-ons. Countdown is $29 a year for one site. AWeber is $19. ConvertForce ships everything in one Pro licence.

Unlimited sites for less

Popup Builder’s unlimited-site Agency bundle is $145.95 a year. Its two-site Starter bundle is $49.95. ConvertForce Pro covers unlimited sites for $39.50.

Three campaign types built in

Lightbox popups, notification bars, and slide-ins are all first-class campaign types in ConvertForce, free and Pro alike, with no add-on required for any of them.

Built in the block editor

Popup Builder uses its own editing screens, largely unchanged since before Gutenberg. ConvertForce campaigns are built with the same blocks you use for posts and pages.

Nothing to price out first

With Popup Builder you need to know the extension catalogue before you know your cost. ConvertForce has one price, and every campaign type and trigger is in it.

Lightweight by design

ConvertForce adds about 11 KB to your frontend, verified by WP Hive’s independent testing, with no new database tables and no wp_options entries.

Popup Builder bundle and extension pricing verified against popup-builder.com in July 2026. Extension prices vary by product and licence size; the range shown reflects single-site annual pricing across their catalogue. ConvertForce performance values independently verified by WP Hive.

When Popup Builder is the better choice.

Popup Builder has more than 200,000 active installs and a decade of development behind it. The extension catalogue that makes pricing complicated is also its real strength: it covers ground ConvertForce does not touch, including Woo Commerce campaigns, geo targeting, age restriction gates, registration and login popups, web push notifications, gamified pick-a-gift popups, and direct integrations with email services.

Choose Popup Builder if you need any of those specifically, if you want scheduling today, or if you already know which extensions you need and the bundle price works for you. At $145.95 a year for unlimited sites with all 28 extensions, the Agency bundle is fair value for the breadth it delivers.

Choose ConvertForce if you want the three core campaign types without pricing out a catalogue first, if you would rather build campaigns with blocks than learn another editor, and if a lighter plugin matters to you. ConvertForce is the narrower product. That is the point of it.

FAQ

Switching questions, answered honestly.

How much does Popup Builder actually cost?

It depends on which of its 28 extensions you need. Individual extensions run from $9 to $29 a year for a single site. The bundles are simpler: $49.95 a year for two ites, $89.95 for ten, and $145.95 for unlimited sites, each including every extension. ConvertForce Pro is $39.50 a year for unlimited sites with everything included.

Is exit intent free in Popup Builder?

No. Popup Builder sells triggers as Events extensions, and exit intent is one of them, so it requires a paid extension or one of the bundles. ConvertForce includes exit intent, scroll depth, and user inactivity in its single Pro tier at $39.50 a year.

Does Popup Builder work with the block editor?

Not natively. Popup Builder has its own editing screens with separate Display Rules, Events, and Conditions tabs, an interface that predates Gutenberg and is often described as dated. ConvertForce campaigns are built with core blocks, so there is no second editor to learn.

Can I switch from Popup Builder to ConvertForce?

Yes. There is no automatic importer, but rebuilding a campaign usually takes a few minutes because you design it directly with blocks. Recreate your popup, set its display rules and trigger, publish it, then deactivate Popup Builder. Running both plugins at once is not recommended

What does Popup Builder do that ConvertForce does not?

Quite a lot. Its extensions cover WooCommerce campaigns, geo targeting, countdown and video popups, age restriction gates, registration and login popups, web push notifications, gamified popups, and integrations with email services. ConvertForce offers none of those today, and also lacks campaign scheduling and an on-click trigger.

Will ConvertForce slow down my site?

No. WP Hive’s independent testing places ConvertForce in the top 1% of WordPress plugins for memory efficiency. It adds about 11 KB to your frontend, creates zero database tables, and adds zero wp_options entries. With Popup Builder, frontend weight depends on how many extensions you have active.
